I've loved all the outlaw books and this one is just as well done. But.... if Carmine gets hit by a meteor after set on fire I wouldn't care. I don't like her. Period. Loved Katie. Super love the outlaw. But Carmine is useless. And Tank. He's trash with super strength. Wish outlaw would bash his face with the old thunder stick. This book frustrated me a lot. Well written and I enjoyed it. But not Carmine. Or Tank. I miss Katie.Product details

If you liked the outlaw series you will love this book. Seeing the new characters interact with the previous series characters is great. The author makes the both series blend together perfectly. I can not wait for the next book. Highly recommended.
I'm not sure whether I like it or not. There aren't any gross continuity errors and the prose flows well. The plot is imaginative.
But it didn't really keep me engrossed. I didn't care enough about the characters.
I highly recommend this book as well as the Outlaw series. All are fast paced reads! I particularly enjoyed the battle scenes in this book. I don't feel that you have to read the Outlaw series prior to reading this book, but again I do recommend the Outlaw series. This is a great book for all ages!
I am not your typical reader of this kind of book. I happened to see The Outlaw on my and was intrigued. After finishing the series I wanted more and Carmine fit the bill. The characters are well developed the plot nicely thought out and the book is just plain fun
I really enjoyed this book and are already planning on buying the second book. About half way through the book I almost lost interest in the story but at the end I'm glad that I didn't.
One again Alan Janney has masterfully captured my imagination and made it difficult to stay focused at work, go to bed on time or be happy just being human. I really wish I was one of the Pure-Born's!
Having read the other books in this series and story line I know and love the characters; even the antagonists. Janney draws me in early in the story and keeps me hooked all the way though to the end. Thanks Alan.
This book does not have the breakneck pace of the first four books in The Outlaw series. Janney takes time to introduce Carmine and her self built society. It moves but meanders a bit, as if the author is not completely sure where he is going yet. But don't let that discourage you from reading this or the whole series if you haven't already. The characters are fascinating and likable enough that the reader cares about them. I can't wait to see what happens next.
